Weird how stuff breaks when you least expect it

So last night I was just chilling, scrolling through random YouTube videos, when suddenly my laptop froze.
Completely dead.
No blue screen, no warning, just… gone.

Honestly, I panicked way more than I should have.
I mean, it’s just a laptop, right?
But when you realize half your stuff — work files, photos, passwords — are all stuck in there, it hits differently.

Now I’m sitting here wondering if I should’ve been smarter about backups, or maybe even had someone do a quick DFIR Service on my setup every once in a while.
I don’t even know if anything bad happened or if it’s just a random crash, but the idea that something could sneak in unnoticed kinda messes with your head.

Thinking about reaching out to someone who knows more about Cybersecurity Incident Response stuff just to make sure I’m not being totally clueless.

Anyway, just venting a little.
Anyone else had their machine just die on them out of nowhere?
Was it something simple or did it turn into a whole nightmare?
