Wanted to share an update on what’s happening with MisterPoll.com
The original site was 25 years old and gained popularity in the early 2000s as a platform where anyone could create and share polls on virtually any topic. It had a bit of a cult following for its openness, and over time it accumulated a massive archive of user-created polls, many of which were quirky, personal, or just downright strange. It’s a pretty cool piece of internet history.
As Mr. Allan can attest, we’ve been trying really hard to get the old site back online but it was built in perl and held together with bubblegum and duct tape.
The original site is hosted on digital ocean but would not stay online. Security has been an ongoing issue too. At one point someone was trying to mine bitcoin off of our servers.
We figured we would give one thing one last try by inviting people into this discourse group to see if there was any real interest and it looks like there definitely is. We sincerely thank you for your support.
